A recent Christianity Today cover story asked, "Why Can't Men Be Friends?" It lamented that in our broader culture friendships are difficult to form, and that the church as a whole reflects this. Biblically, those who follow Christ have deep friendships across all societal strata — gender, class, race, age, etc. — but often this is not the case today.
We recognize that there is a great need for men to get together to talk, pray, encourage, and help each other in a world where there is a strong temptation to isolate from other Christian men.
Christ the Shepherd has several opportunities for men to meet in the morning before work, drink a cup of coffee, work through a section of Scripture or tackle some practical theology.
At other times, we get together as men for dinner out, just to rub shoulders and catch up with each other's lives.
All men are welcome at Christ the Shepherd!
