The thief comes only to steal and destroy;
I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd
lays down his life for the sheep. John 10:10-11

Rev. David A. Hutchinson

Rev. David A. Hutchinson is the founding pastor of Christ the Shepherd Church. Born and raised in Iowa, Dave attended Bible college in Florida, where he met and married his wife, Paula.

After college, while working for the Frito-Lay company in Florida, Dave became youth director at Pinewoods Presbyterian Church in Cantonment, Fla. Two years later, he enrolled in the Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Miss., where he earned a Master of Divinity degree in 1998. He returned to Pinewoods Church, and was ordained as a minister of the Gospel in the Presbyterian Church of America (PCA), serving at Pinewoods as assistant pastor for student ministries.

In 2000, he became associate pastor at Glasgow Reformed Presbyterian Church in Bear, Del., where his responsibilities included education, men’s ministry, outreach/assimilation/evangelism, small groups and mercy ministries.

In 2005, Dave and Paula sensed God’s call to church planting ministry. They were evaluated by the PCA’s Assessment Center for Church Planters and qualified as church planters within the denomination. After prayer and careful evaluation, Pastor Dave accepted a call to plant a church in Danbury, Conn.

In August 2005, Dave and Paula moved to Connecticut with their four children — Sarah, Abby, David Jr., and Lily — and launched Christ the Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Danbury. They live in New Milford, Conn.
